We have launched a UBC History Alumni Newsletter!

Dear UBC History Alumni,

There’s a lot going on in History!  We’ve launched a bi-annual alumni newsletter to highlight exciting work by students and faculty; bring you the latest news from the Department; and keep you apprised of upcoming history-related events at UBC.  Each issue will include alumni news and updates, as well as features of interest to those with an enduring fascination and engagement with history.

UBC’s History faculty and students ask profound questions of more than a thousand years of our collective, infinitely diverse past.  We research global migration, media technologies, the history of emotions, the diffusion of religious cultures, and the many forms of colonialism. We study histories of legal systems, urban planning, global health, sexual identities, and parenting.  We teach courses on the history of human rights, the environment, international relations, medicine and health, Indigenous-settler interactions, ideological extremism, and the relationship of global and regional histories in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Canada.

We want to hear from you!  Please send your news and inquiries to hist.comms@ubc.ca.  If you want more regular updates on Departmental news and events, please sign up for our monthly newsletter here.

Thanks for joining us,

Eagle Glassheim, Professor and Head, UBC History
