New Peter Wall Institute Book “Memory” features essay from UBC Historians, Tara Mayer and Pheroze Unwalla

November 9, 2018

A collection of essays from scholars has been put together and released in time to mark a momentous occasion —one hundred years since the end of the First World War and the 100th anniversary of Remembrance Day.

Tara Mayer and Pheroze Unwalla co-authored the essay “Global 1918,” which notes that Remembrance Day marks the peace experienced in Europe after the European theatre of war ended a century ago, even as this time was followed by aggressive colonialism in other parts of the world, including India and the Middle East.
