On May 11, President Santa J. Ono announced that the majority of UBC classes in Term 1 of the 2020W academic session (September to December 2020) will be offered online. As of late, UBC has not yet made a decision regarding Term 2 of 2020W.
Further to this announcement, and for the health and safety of all of us, all undergraduate courses within the Department of History will be offered online in Term 1. Instructors are currently adapting course content and determining the best delivery model for each course. Students can expect a variety of formats which may include a combination of online meetings and outside of class readings, recorded lectures, and/or assignments, in various proportions.
Instructors are working hard to make sure that students in challenging circumstances will be accommodated as much as possible. If students aren’t sure if their circumstances will allow them to take a class, or if they would like to know more about how a class will be run, they are strongly encouraged to email the instructor.
