About the Presenter
Kyle Powys-Whyte (Michigan State University)
Kyle Powys-Whyte is an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. His research interests include environmental justice and the politics of climate policy from an indigenous perspective. He works with the Climate and Traditional Knowledges Workgroup, the Tribal Climate Camp, the U.S. Global Change Research Program and the Menominee Sustainable Development Institute. Recent (2018) publications include “Way Beyond the Lifeboat: An Indigenous Allegory of Climate Justice,” “Food Sovereignty”, Justice and Indigenous Peoples,” and “Theorizing Indigeneity, Gender, and Settler Colonialism.”
