Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Dr. Gow completed her doctoral degree at UBC on “Military Administration in the Confederacy: The Army of Tennessee, 1862-1864” (1970), and published a number of articles on Confederate military affairs. At UBC, she taught American history from 1965 until her retirement in 1989. She spent her final years at Sunrise Senior Living residence in Vancouver.
